How to Inspect the working of your Antivirus

There are lots of Antivirus software in market. So it`s very difficult to choose the right one. Every Antivirus has it`s own way to detect virus and threats,but every Antivirus is not capable of detecting malicious scripts and threats. So to check whether your Antivirus is the good one then go through these steps.

1. Open Notepad.
2. Type this code or paste this code without quotation mark “X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H* “
3. Now Click on save as and save it by any name (virus.com) on the desktop.
4. Now scan with your Antivirus program.If your program detects it as a virus then it is a good Antivirus and your Antivirus is working fine.I tested it with Avast and Microsoft Security Essential and both of them detects the file as a virus.
5. And don`t worry this virus file will make no harm to your pc.It is just use to inspect your Antivirus.
